At Codeyx, accessible from codeyx-web.vercel.app, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by Codeyx and how we use it. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.
Information We Collect
The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide it.
- Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect authentication data such as your name, email address, and profile picture. This authentication flow is securely managed by our third-party provider, Clerk.
- Developer Profile Data: We collect details about your education and career, such as your college/university, degree, branch, graduation year, skills, and optional bio.
- Coding Integrations: If you connect your public developer profiles (including GitHub, LeetCode, Codeforces, CodeChef, and GeeksforGeeks), we sync and store your public solving activity, submission statistics, and repository metrics to populate your unified analytics dashboard.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to provide, operate, and optimize Codeyx services, specifically to:
- Generate personalized coding progress insights and algorithmic study roadmaps using AI models.
- Enable peer interaction, following features, and public portfolio page discovery.
- Monitor and prevent abuse, ensuring the stability and performance of our services.
- Maintain, personalize, and improve our website experience.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Codeyx utilizes cookies and local storage to keep you authenticated, store your UI preferences (like theme state), and cache profile data locally on your device to improve performance. For shared or public devices, our system is configured to clear these local caches automatically upon signing out.
Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense on our platform. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on Codeyx. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to Codeyx and other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Data Retention & Deletion (GDPR & CCPA Rights)
We respect your data rights under international regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. You have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data stored by us.
Self-Service Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through your Profile Settings. Deleting your account will immediately trigger an automated database cleanup cascade that permanently removes your identity, profile details, linked developer handles, and project data from our database servers and Redis caches.
Security of Your Data
We employ industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS security headers, Strict-Transport-Security (HSTS), Content-Security-Policy (CSP), and automated rate-limiting, to protect your data from unauthorized access or leakage.
